The 8th Annual Hawaii Avocado Festival was held on April 5, 2014 on the lawn of the Sheraton Kona Resort.  

The festival coordinator was vocado farmer, Randyl Rupar.  There were many avocado-related activities including an avocado recipe contest, a tree grafting demonstration by Ty McDonald of UH CTAHR, a panel discussion on “Keeping the Culture in Agriculture.” Maria Stewart and staff of UH CTAHR also was displaying different avocado varieties showcasing the benefits of the Hawaii grown avocado.
