Tropical Flowers Express

Posted on Nov 18, 2014 in Main

More than 25 years ago, John Gordines jumped on the “Tropical Flower Movement” bandwagon when he started growing Hawaiian flowers in his backyard in Kapaa. He and his wife Theresa were inspired by their next-door neighbor, Uncle Howard Yamamoto, who predicted tropical flowers would become the next big thing. John, who originally raised farm animals, says switching to flowers was the best decision he made. Today, their gently sloping two acres bloom with all types of exotic flowers. Every day, John harvests and ships.

At an elevation of 450 feet, the location of Tropical Flowers Express provides the perfect combination of cool breezes and just enough sunshine for tropical flowers to flourish. Anthurium, beehive ginger, new varieties of heliconia, French kiss costus, Calatheya, protea, bronze and green rattlesnake are just a few of the types of flowers that John and Theresa Gordines grow.

Their flowers can be found at the following locations.
