Maui Workshop on Selling Backyard Eggs

There are  increasing numbers of residents that are raising chickens in their backyards for eggs.  However, there are state and federal requirements that one must follow in order to sell backyard eggs.

The University of Hawaii – College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR), the Hawaii Department of Health and the Hawaii Department of Agriculture will hold a FREE workshop on:

8:30 a.m. to noon
Community Services Building

(next to CTAHR Cooperative Extension Service)

  • Candling & Grading of Shell Eggs
  • Washing & Good Handling Practices
  • Packaging & Labeling
  • Compliance with Federal & State laws
  • Resources for the backyard egg farmer

Participants are encouraged to bring their own eggs.
