Want to Learn How to Become a Farmer?Posted on Jun 4, 2013 in Main
As long-time farmer Ed Otsuji says, “Gardening is fun. Farming is hard work.”
The Pacific Gateway Center is offering a free two-month program to teach beginning farmers the skills that will help make them successful. This next session runs from mid-June to mid-August and the deadline to register is June 13th.
Program participants will learn about farming methods, access to land, credit, business plans, food safety, pesticides, organic farming, and much more. Training may be available in Burmese, Chinese, Ilokano, Korean, Lao, Samoan, Tagalog, Thai, Tongan, Vietnamese, and other languages, depending upon enrollment.
