Statement from ADC Executive Director James. J. Nakatani on the Release of the Final Report from the House Investigative Committee to Investigate Compliance with Audit Nos. 19-12 and 21-01

HONOLULU — The following statement was issued by ADC Executive Director James J. Nakatani in response to the release of the House Investigative Committee’s Final Report:

“As shown throughout these House proceedings, the Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC) has already made significant progress this past year in improving our operations and filling our previously vacant parcels at our Wahiawa and Kauai properties for agricultural use. We are in the process of signing long-term land licenses with new farming tenants who are expected to move in later this year. We have also cleared the land and improved the infrastructure to make the areas better for farming.

This was ADC’s first audit and the process was a learning experience for the agency. It brought to light some shortcomings which the ADC has been, and will continue to, work hard to address.”
