Created by Agricultural Artist and Horticultural Master, Ali`i Chang, the Alii Kula Lavender 13.5 acre farm resides at an elevation of roughly 4000 feet and is home to approximately 55,000 lavender plants and 45 different varieties of lavender.  Olive trees, hydrangea, Protea, succulents and an exceptional variety of other plants can be found on the farm which offers the first and only Lavender Lifestyle experience on Maui. Alii Kula Lavender has been a member of the Hawaii Seal of Quality since August, 2010.

Lani Weigert, President and Co-Founder of Alii Kula Lavender states, “To be a charter member of the Hawaii Seal of Quality program has proven to be such a great marketing opportunity for Alii Kula Lavender.  Being located in one of the most isolated places on earth can make reaching people a challenge.  The program has helped to differentiate our Lavender brand amongst the sea of agribusinesses, and keep us “top of mind” with consumers in Hawaii and well beyond our shores.  The networking opportunities to export with quality, trustworthy international companies provided our small company an entrée directly to the qualified buyers, which would have been something difficult to do on our own.

Lani Weigert also mentioned, “I’m excited to see the surge in marketing support that the Seal of Quality program continues to offer and most importantly, working with the collaborative SOQ staff who truly care who we are, and what we stand for.”

Ali`i Kula Lavender is built on a value-centered philosophy of “Aloha” which means love, friendship and responsibility to the AKL Ohana. This founding principle speaks to the quality of our relationships with the land, the community and each other.  As stewards of the land, AKL promotes the best practices that respect the earth and the environment and gives special homage and respect to our Kupuna (elders) whose spirit has empowered us to nurture and protect our land and our people.
