With over fifty hives and five apiaries around the island of Oahu, Hawaiian Rainbow Bees has a mission to produce a local, quality, unprocessed, and healthy honey. Hawaiian Rainbow apiaries are located in Manoa Valley in the Honolulu area, in the Hawaii Kai area, and most hives are on an active USDA approved organic farm in Poamaho, central Oahu, which grows quality tropical fruit.

Founded on July 4, 2011, the name “Hawaiian Rainbow Bees” was chosen in reference to the daily rainbows that cascade above their apiaries, and the fact that there are many colorful tropical blossoms that are incorporated into the delicious honey. Hawaiian Rainbow Bee honey is 100% Made in Hawaii! Employees are loving and respectful when working with the bees and their products. Hawaiian Rainbow Bees only use natural treatments for their products.  Malcom Yorkston, owner of Hawaiian Rainbow Bees explains, “There aren’t many raw honeys on the market, and we believe that everyone should have access to a local, unprocessed, healthy honey.”

Malcom Yorkston also states, “Quality honey comes from placing bees in places where they will flourish. It comes from proper management of hives and being respectful of the raw honey during the extracting and bottling process.”

Hawaiian Rainbow Bees products can be purchased in the following sizes: 2 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz, Quart, ½ Gallon, 1 Gallon, and 5 Gallon containers.  They are sold in stores such as Down to Earth or Whole Foods. They also retail at the Ala Moana Shopping Center’s Farmers Market on Saturday (8 – Noon). The Rainbow Bees slogan is “Honey for everyone!”  This is how they hope to spread aloha.
