The Commodities Branch and the USDA have collaborated on producing a series of seven videos to help farmers understand how GAP certification works and why it’s important for farms to become GAP certified.

FOOD SAFETY PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
HDOA’s Commodities Branch has produced a series of public service announcements (PSAs) to promote good agricultural practices and good food safety practices in all areas of food production and handling. The PSAs are running on Spectrum cable stations through the end of this year.

Everyone’s Role in Food Safety
HDOA’s Plant Pest Control Branch had previously produced a PSA on rat lungworm disease:
AGRICULTURAL FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION COSTS GRANT PROGRAM
This program provides grant funds to assist farmer or rancher in meeting costs of complying with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), FDA regulations and state food safety laws. The program ended in 2019.
